FRONT SEAT BACK TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

Warning
-
• If the sliding mechanisms on both sides are not locked after assembling the front seat, the front seat will operate accidentally while the vehicle is driven, which could result in serious injury. After assembling the front seat, shake it up and down and verify that the sliding mechanism on the both sides are locked. (With manual seat)

Caution
-
• After the front seat has been removed, if the slider lever is operated and the front seat is reinstalled with the left/right slide positions deviated, the adjuster unit could be damaged. After removing a front seat, do not operate the slider lever. (With manual seat)
• Verify that there are no malfunctions in the forward/back slide of the seat and in the adjuster unit after installing a front seat.
• When performing the procedure with a front seat removed from the vehicle, perform the procedure on a clean cloth so as not to damage or dirty the seat.
Without seat ventilation system
Removal
1. Remove the head restraint.
2. Remove the front seat. (See FRONT SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
3. Remove the fasteners and set the front seat cushion trim away from the front seat cushion frame. (With power seat system)
4. Move the hook in the order of arrows (1) and (2) shown in the figure and set the front seat cushion trim away from the front seat cushion frame. (Without power seat system)
5. Disconnect the connectors.
6. Remove the wiring harness clip.
7. Move hook A in the order of arrows (1) and (2) shown in the figure and detach it from hook B.
8. Unzip the zippers.
9. Peel back the front seat back trim and unhook the hooks.
10. While pressing the tabs in the direction of arrows (1) shown in the figure, pull the pole guides in the direction of arrow (2) and remove the pole guides from the front seat back frame.
11. Pull out the pin in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure.
12. Move the remover tool in the direction of arrows (2) shown in the figure, pull the clip in the direction of arrow (3) with the tabs pressed, and remove the side air bag module securing belt from the front seat back frame.
13. Pull the wiring harnesses shown in the figure out through the holes in the front seat back pad.
14. Pull out the front seat back pad, and the front seat back trim and front seat back warmer wiring harness (with seat warmer system) toward the front of the front seat.
15. Lift up the front seat back trim and front seat back pad in the direction of the arrow as a single unit and remove it from the front seat back frame.
16. Remove the C-rings, and then remove the front seat back trim from the front seat back pad.

Caution
-
• If a C-ring is damaged while removing or installing the front seat back trim and front seat back pad, it may not be possible to install the front seat back trim and front seat back pad normally. When removing or installing the front seat back trim and front seat back pad, be careful not to damage the C-rings.
• If a C-ring is damaged, replace it with a new one.

• The position and number of C-rings differ depending on the type of seat.
Installation
1. Install the C-rings by aligning the C-ring installation holes of the front seat back trim and the front seat back pad.

Caution
-
• If a C-ring is damaged while removing or installing the front seat back trim and front seat back pad, it may not be possible to install the front seat back trim and front seat back pad normally. When removing or installing the front seat back trim and front seat back pad, be careful not to damage the C-rings.
• If a C-ring is damaged, replace it with a new one.

• The position and number of C-rings differ depending on the type of seat.
• Wrinkling can be easily prevented by installing the C-rings with a certain amount of tightening.
2. Press the front seat back pad inward while pulling the front seat back trim outward.
3. Install the front seat back trim and the front seat back pad as a single unit to the front seat back frame.
4. Pull out the front seat back pad, front seat back trim, and front seat back warmer wiring harness (with seat warmer system) rearward of the front seat.
5. Pass the wiring harnesses shown in the figure through the holes in the front seat back pad.
6. Move the clip in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure and install the side air bag module securing belt to the front seat back frame.
7. Press the pin in the direction of arrow (2) shown in the figure.
8. Install the pole guides to the front seat back frame.
9. Install the hooks
10. Zip the zippers.
11. Align the front seat back trim with the shape of the front seat back pad while pressing the front seat back pad outward.
12. Pull the front seat back trim in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure and remove the wrinkles on the front seat back trim.
13. Move hook A in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure and install it to hook B.
14. Connect the connectors.
15. Install the clips.
16. Install the fasteners and install the front seat cushion trim to the front seat cushion frame. (With power seat system/with position memory system)
17. Move the hook in the order of arrows (1) and (2) shown in the figure and install the front seat cushion trim to the front seat cushion frame. (Without power seat system/without position memory system)
18. Install the front seat. (See FRONT SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
19. Install the headrest.
20. Connect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)
With seat ventilation system
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal and wait for 1 min or more. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)
2. Remove the head restraint.
3. Remove the front seat. (See FRONT SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
4. Remove the fasteners and set the front seat cushion trim away from the front seat cushion frame. (With power seat system)
5. Move the hook in the order of arrows (1) and (2) shown in the figure and set the front seat cushion trim away from the front seat cushion frame. (Without power seat system)
6. Disconnect the connectors.
7. Remove the wiring harness clip.
8. Move hook A in the order of arrows (1) and (2) shown in the figure and detach it from hook B.
9. Unzip the zippers.
10. Remove the hooks.
11. Peel back the front seat back trim and unhook the hooks.
12. While pressing the tabs in the direction of arrows (1) shown in the figure, pull the pole guides in the direction of arrow (2) and remove the pole guides from the front seat back frame.
13. Pull out the pin in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure.
14. Move the remover tool in the direction of arrows (2) shown in the figure, pull the clip in the direction of arrow (3) with the tabs pressed, and remove the side air bag module securing belt from the front seat back frame.
15. Move the reverse cover in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure and remove the tabs.
16. Pull out the wiring harnesses.
17. Move the hood in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure and remove it from the blower.
18. Pull out the front seat back pad, and the front seat back trim and front seat back warmer wiring harness (with seat warmer system) toward the front of the front seat.
19. Lift up the front seat back trim and front seat back pad in the direction of the arrow as a single unit and remove it from the front seat back frame.
20. Install in the reverse order of removal.
