Purpose, Function

• The amount of exhaust gas passed through the EGR cooler, which is re-circulated to the intake manifold, is adjusted.

Construction

• The EGR valve is installed to the intake manifold.

• The EGR valve consists of the DC motor, valve, spring, valve gear, and mid gear.

• The EGR valve has an integrated EGR valve position sensor. (See EGR VALVE POSITION SENSOR [SKYACTIV-D 2.2].)

Operation

• The PCM drives the DC motor of the valve by the pulse-width modulation signal.

• Control of exhaust gas temperature is enabled by cooperative control of the EGR cooler bypass valve.

•  Inhibits the auto DPF regeneration control.

•  Inhibits the compulsory DPF regeneration control.
