Voltage Inspection

Note

•  Because the EGR valve position sensor is integrated in the EGR valve, replacing the EGR valve position sensor includes replacement of the EGR valve.

1.  Switch the ignition ON (engine off).

2.  Measure the voltage at the EGR valve terminal D.

•  If the voltage is within the specification, go to the next step.

•  If the voltage is not within the specification, replace the EGR valve. (See EGR VALVE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-D 2.2].)

3.  Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.

4.  Start the engine.

5.  Access the simulation item EGRP and the PID EGRP_ACT using the M-MDS. (See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC TEST [SKYACTIV-D 2.2].)

6.  Verify that the PID EGR_ACT value conforms when the simulation item EGRP is changed from 0% to 80%.

•  If that cannot verify, replace the EGR valve. (See EGR VALVE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-D 2.2].)
