SKYACTIV-G 2.0 (Without Cylinder Deactivation)


Operation inspection

1.  Inspect the lining surface for discoloration and grease adhesion.

2.  Inspect the torsion spring for weakness and the rivets for looseness.

3.  Using a vernier caliper, measure the depth between the lining surface and the rivet head.

Minimum clutch disc thickness
0.3 mm {0.01 in}
•  If it is less than the minimum specification, replace the clutch disc. (See CLUTCH UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [C66M-R, C66MX-R].)

4.  Measure the clutch disc runout using a dial gauge.

Maximum clutch disc runout
0.7 mm {0.03 in}
•  If it exceeds the maximum specification, replace the clutch disc. (See CLUTCH UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [C66M-R, C66MX-R].)


SKYACTIV-G 2.0 (With Cylinder Deactivation)

Caution
•  The removed clutch cover and clutch disc for the C66M(X)-R cannot be reused. If the clutch cover and clutch disc are removed, replace the clutch cover and clutch disc as a single unit with a new part.

1.  Remove the manual transaxle. (See MANUAL TRANSAXLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [C66M-R].) (See MANUAL TRANSAXLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [C66MX-R].)

2.  Adjust the thickness of the thickness gauge to 2.5 mm {0.098 in}.

3.  Insert the thickness gauge from the notch of the dual-mass flywheel and verify that the facing on the clutch cover side is thicker than the thickness gauge.

Clutch disc facing thickness on clutch cover side
New part: 3.6 mm {0.14 in}
Maximum: 2.1 mm {0.083 in}
•  If the facing on the clutch cover side is thinner than the thickness gauge, replace the clutch disc and clutch cover as a single unit. (See CLUTCH UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [C66M-R, C66MX-R].)
