MAZDA ERA-GLONASS SWITCH INSPECTION

Switch Inspection

1.  Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

2.  Remove the front map light. (See FRONT MAP LIGHT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Verify that the continuity is as indicated in the table.

Type A

•  If not as indicated in the table, replace the Mazda ERA-GLONASS switch. (See MAZDA ERA-GLONASS SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

LED Illumination Inspection

Type A

1.  Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

2.  Remove the front map light. (See FRONT MAP LIGHT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Apply battery voltage to Mazda ERA-GLONASS switch terminal B, and connect terminal H to ground.

4.  Verify that the LED illuminates.

•  If the LED does not illuminate, replace the Mazda ERA-GLONASS switch. (See MAZDA ERA-GLONASS SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

Type B

1.  Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

2.  Remove the front map light. (See FRONT MAP LIGHT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Apply battery voltage to Mazda ERA-GLONASS switch terminal E, and connect terminal C to ground.

4.  Verify that the LED illuminates.

•  If the LED does not illuminate, replace the Mazda ERA-GLONASS switch. (See MAZDA ERA-GLONASS SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

Indicator Light Illumination Inspection

1.  Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

2.  Remove the front map light. (See FRONT MAP LIGHT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Prepare three dry cell batteries (1.5 V).

4.  Connect the three dry cell batteries in a series.

5.  Connect the positive pole of the dry cell battery and the negative pole of the dry cell battery to each terminal of the Mazda ERA-GLONASS switch as indicated in the table below, and verify that each LED turns on normally.
