Purpose

• The telematics communication system provides the customer a safe and useful service via communication between the vehicle, the Mazda server, and the device customer have.

• The customer's car life is supported 24 hours a day, 365 days a year by the customer using the MyMazda.

Function

The telematics communication system has the following functions.

Remote Control

Remote Engine Start

• Starts the engine remotely using the MyMazda.

Note

• During remote engine starting, all of the following conditions for the previous engine-stop conditions are repeated.

― Air-conditioning

― Light illumination (except for auto light)

― Wiper operation (except for auto wiper)

Remote Engine Stop

• Stops the engine remotely using the MyMazda.

Remote Door Lock

• Locks the doors remotely using the MyMazda.

Remote Door Unlock

• Unlocks the doors remotely using the MyMazda.

Remote Hazard Light

• Turns on/off the hazard warning lights remotely using the MyMazda.

Send to Car

• Can set the position information specified by the MyMazda to the navigation equipped on the vehicle.

Vehicle Status Alert

• Informs the MyMazda of the following.

― Forgetting to close doors/liftgate/hood

― Forgetting to lock front doors

― Hazard warning lights/TNS-on reminder

Remote Monitor

• Can confirm the following vehicle information using the MyMazda.

― Remaining distance-to-empty

― Fuel tank level

― Odometer display

― Doors/liftgate/hood are locked/unlocked and open/closed

― Hazard warning lights/TNS illumination status

Condition Monitor

• Can confirm the following vehicle information using the MyMazda.

― Fuel gauge

― Engine oil level

― Next service date (oil change)

― Next maintenance date

― Lighting system

Remote Security Alert

• Informs the MyMazda of the theft-deterrent system alarm operation history.

Vehicle Finder

• Can confirm the position where the vehicle is stopped using the MyMazda.

Malfunction notification

• Sends the malfunction detected by the vehicle to the Mazda server via the Internet.

Vehicle Health Report

• Sends the vehicle information read by the vehicle to the Mazda server via the Internet.

Recall Notification

• Can receive and display the recall notifications sent from the Mazda server by the vehicle and the MyMazda.

Initiel registration

• Can create a user account at the Member's Website.

Preferred dealer

• Various services and functions are available in only 1 application.

Primary Driver/Secondary Driver

• By setting the relationship between the primary driver and secondary driver to the user account, one vehicle can be shared by multiple people.

Authorization code

• By issuing an authorization code on the vehicle and inputting the issued authorization code into the MyMazda, the telematics communication system services can be made available on a Smartphone.

Embedded Communications Restricted

• Temporarily inhibits all of the following using the M-MDS.

― Remote operations by MyMazda

― Notifications sent to MyMazda

Online Update

• Updates the connectivity master unit (CMU) software remotely.

Communication condition display function

• Displays the communication conditions of the vehicle and Smartphone on the center display.

Radio reception status display for telematics communication unit

Indicates that the contract for the telematics communication system is invalid.

Indicates that the contract for the telematics communication system is valid and the radio wave strength of the telematics communication unit is out of range.

Indicates that the contract for the telematics communication system is valid and the radio wave connection of the telematics communication unit is shut down.

Indicates the radio wave strength level of the telematics communication unit and that the contract for the telematics communication system is valid.

Indicates that the contract for the telematics communication system is valid and the telematics communication unit is communicating with the server.

	Indicates the radio wave strength level of the telematics communication unit and that the contract for the telematics communication system is valid.
	Indicates that the contract for the telematics communication system is valid and the telematics communication unit is communicating with the server.

Operation

• When all of the following conditions are met, remote operations using the telematics communication system become available.

Remote Engine Start/Stop

― Selector lever is in P position

― There is programmed key outside vehicle

― Ignition is switched OFF

― All doors are closed

― Hood is closed

― Door lock positions for all seats are locked

― Remote start operation is not performed within 10 min

Remote Door Lock

― Ignition is switched OFF

― All doors are closed

― Liftgate is closed

― Hazard warning switch is off

― Door lock positions for all seats are unlocked

― Hazard warning light operation is not performed within 10 min

Remote Door Unlock

― Ignition is switched OFF

― All doors are closed

― Liftgate is closed

― Hazard warning switch is off

― Door lock positions for all seats are locked

― Hazard warning light operation is not performed within 10 min

Remote Hazard Light

― Ignition is switched OFF

― All doors are closed

― Liftgate is closed

― Hazard warning switch is off

1. When the MyMazda is operated, a signal according to the operation content is sent (1) to the telematics communication unit.

2. When the telematics communication unit receives the signal, an operation request signal according to the operation content is sent (2) to each related part.

3. Each related part operates.
