Description

Abnormal CD player or DVD/CD player temperature

Detection condition

•  With the ignition switched ON (engine off or on), the connectivity master unit (CMU) detects an abnormally high temperature condition in the CD player or DVD/CD player.

Fail-safe

CD/DVD playback stopped.

Possible cause

Caution

•  If the CD player or DVD/CD player is used for long periods in a hot environment, the temperature of the CD player or DVD/CD player will increase and a DTC may be output. The CD player or DVD/CD player should not be used continuously for long periods with the cabin under high temperature conditions from being left under direct sunlight.

•  Temperature increase due to continuous use for long periods.

•  CD player or DVD/CD player internal malfunction

Diagnostic Procedure

Step	Inspection		Action
1	VERIFY IF CD PLAYER OR DVD/CD PLAYER TEMPERATURE WAS TEMPORARILY HIGH • Clear the DTC for the connectivity master unit using the M-MDS. (See CLEARING DTC [CONNECTIVITY MASTER UNIT (TYPE-A)].) • Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on) and wait for 7 s or more. • Perform the DTC inspection for the connectivity master unit using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION [CONNECTIVITY MASTER UNIT (TYPE-A)].) • Is the same Pending DTC present?	Yes	Leave the vehicle in a cool location for 30 min or more, then go to the next step.
1		No	Go to Step 3.
2	VERIFY THAT REPAIRS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED • Clear the DTC for the connectivity master unit using the M-MDS. (See CLEARING DTC [CONNECTIVITY MASTER UNIT (TYPE-A)].) • Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on) and wait for 7 s or more. • Perform the DTC inspection for the connectivity master unit using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION [CONNECTIVITY MASTER UNIT (TYPE-A)].) • Is the same Pending DTC present?	Yes	Replace the CD player or DVD/CD player, then go to the next step. (Refer to the [CD PLAYER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION] in the workshop manual) (Refer to the [DVD/CD PLAYER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION] in the workshop manual)
2		No	Go to the next step.
3	VERIFY IF OTHER DTCs DISPLAYED • Are any other DTCs displayed?	Yes	Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting. (See DTC TABLE [CONNECTIVITY MASTER UNIT (TYPE-A) (E)].)
3		No	DTC troubleshooting completed.
