PID/DATA MONITOR INSPECTION

id990200000500

Note
•  The PID/data monitor function monitors the calculation value of the input/output signal in the module. Therefore, if the monitored value of the output parts is not within the standard, it is necessary to inspect the monitored value of input parts corresponding to the applicable output part control. In addition, a malfunction in output parts is not indicated directly as a malfunction in the monitoring value, therefore, the individual inspection for the output part is required.
•  When a DTC is detected, the PID related to the malfunctioning system may not be displayed even though the module is normal. Therefore, if the PID is not displayed, it is necessary to verify the DTC, perform the detected DTC troubleshooting, and repair the malfunctioning location.

1.  Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.

2.  Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on).

3.  Perform the following procedure using the M-MDS.

(1)  Press [Start] for the vehicle identification.
(2)  Press the [Toolbox] tab.
(3)  Press the [Diagnosis] icon.
(4)  Press [Run] for Data Logger.

4.  Select the applicable module.

5.  Select the applicable PID/data monitor item.

Note
•  The M-MDS may display a system which is not equipped on the vehicle or a part PID. In this case, the displayed content cannot be used for the malfunction diagnosis because the M-MDS cannot monitor correctly.
•  With the Mazda Diagnostic and Repair Software (MDARS), the PIDs for multiple modules can be displayed at the same time.

6.  Verify the monitoring value following the instructions on the screen.
