• A SCR converter utilizing a zeolite catalyst has been adopted.
• NOx is purified by deoxidization while passing through the SCR converter.
Pyrolysis/hydrolysis
• Produces ammonia from AdBlue®.
― (NH 2) 2CO → NH 3+ HNCO (pyrolysis)
― HNCO + H 2O → NH 3 + CO 2 (hydrolysis)
Deoxidization process
• NOx is reduced by ammonia produced by pyrolysis and hydrolysis.
― 4NH 3+ 4NO + O 2→ 4N 2+ 6H 2O
― 4NH 3+ 2NO 2+ O 2→ 3N 2+ 6H 2O
― 2NH 3+ NO + NO 2→ 2N 2+ 3H 2O
• Any remaining ammonia after NOx deoxidization is removed while it passes through the slip catalyst in the SCR converter.
Oxidization removal
• Removes ammonia by oxidization.
