• When the EHPAS and CAN lines are normal, the EHPAS warning light illuminates when the ignition is switched to ON and turns off when the engine is started for a light function. If the system has a malfunction, the EHPAS warning light stays illuminated.

• The EHPAS warning light might remain illuminated after starting the engine under cold weather conditions. The characteristic of the power steering fluid changes under extreme cold which could result in a greater than normal amount of required steering force. The illumination of the warning light is designed to warn the driver, of these circumstances, but it does not indicate a system malfunction. The warning light turns off after a certain amount of time when the power steering fluid returns to a normal condition after the steering wheel is rotated several times.
