1.Complete the “BEFORE REPAIR PROCEDURE”. (See BEFORE SERVICE PRECAUTION [L3 Turbo].)
2.Disconnect the negative battery cable.
3.Remove the under cover.
4.Remove the splash shield.
5.Drain the engine oil. (See ENGINE OIL REPLACEMENT [L3 Turbo].)
6.Drain the engine coolant. (See ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT [L3 Turbo].)
7.Remove the charge air cooler. (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [L3 Turbo].)
8.Remove the high pressure fuel pump. (See HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [L3 Turbo].)
9.Remove the ignition coils. (See IGNITION COIL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [L3 Turbo].)
10.Disconnect the wiring harness.
11.Remove the ventilation hose.
12.Remove the drive belt. (See DRIVE BELT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [L3 Turbo].)
13.Remove the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor. (See CRANKSHAFT POSITION (CKP) SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [L3 Turbo].)
14.Remove the P/S oil pump with the hoses and pipes still connected. (See POWER STEERING OIL PUMP REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [L3 Turbo, L5].)
15.Remove the bracket shown in the figure, and place the power steering pressure hose outside of the vehicle.

16.Remove the engine front cover. (See TIMING CHAIN REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [L3 Turbo].)
17.Remove the oil pan. (See OIL PAN REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [L3 Turbo].)
18.Remove in the order indicated in the table.
19.Install in the reverse order of removal.
20.Refill with the specified type and amount of the engine oil. (See ENGINE OIL REPLACEMENT [L3 Turbo].)
21.Refill the engine coolant. (See ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT [L3 Turbo].)
22.Start the engine and confirm that there is no oil leakage.
23.Inspect the oil level. (See ENGINE OIL LEVEL INSPECTION [L3 Turbo].)
24.Inspect for engine coolant leakage. (See ENGINE COOLANT LEAKAGE INSPECTION [L3 Turbo].)
25.Inspect for the ignition timing and idle speed. (See ENGINE TUNE-UP [L3 Turbo].)
26.Inspect the oil pressure. (See OIL PRESSURE INSPECTION [L3 Turbo].)

Oil Pump Driven Sprocket Removal/Installation Note
1.Temporarily install the crankshaft pulley and crankshaft pulley lock bolt to the crankshaft, and lock the oil pump against rotation as shown in figure.

2.Remove/install the oil pump driven sprocket, and then remove the crankshaft pulley and crankshaft pulley lock bolt.
Oil Pump Installation Note
1.Tighten the oil pump bolts in two steps in the order shown in the figure.
