SUCTION CONTROL VALVE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR-CD 2.2]

Caution
• Fuel line spills and leakage on the parts are dangerous. Fuel can ignite and also deteriorate the parts. To prevent this, always cover the mouths of the removed parts in the fuel system with rags to soak up the fuel.
Note
• If the suction control valve is replaced, always perform each adjustment procedure using the following steps.

Replace the suction control valve.

Switch the ignition to on.

Perform supply pump data reset procedure.

Start the engine.
Verify that the MIL dose not illuminate.

Switch the ignition to off.

Switch the ignition to on (Engine off).

Perform KOEO self-test procedure.
(See KOEO/KOER SELF TEST [MZR-CD 2.2].)

Switch the ignition to off.

Wait for 10 s.

Start the engine.

Perform KOER self-test procedure.
― If the KOER self-test is not completed normally, go to Step 3.
Warm up until the exhaust gas temperature (EXHTEMP1, EXHTEMP2, EXHTEMP3 PID) is 100 °C {212 °F} or more.

Switch the ignition to off.

1.Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR-CD 2.2].)

2.Complete the “BEFORE SERVICE PRECAUTION”. (See BEFORE SERVICE PRECAUTION [MZR-CD 2.2].)

3.Remove in the order shown in the table.

4.Install in the reverse order of removal.

5.Complete the “AFTER SERVICE PRECAUTION”. (See AFTER SERVICE PRECAUTION [MZR-CD 2.2].)

Note
• Be careful not to drop the bolts, gasket, and O-rings when removing the suction control valve.

Suction Control Valve Installation Note

1.Apply engine oil to the O-ring (A).

2.Set the O-ring (A) to the supply pump groove.

3.Apply engine oil to the O-ring (B).

4.Install the suction control valve and temporarily tighten the bolts uniformly.

5.Tighten the bolts in two or three steps.

Tightening torque
6.9—10.8 N·m {71—110 kgf·cm, 62—95 in·lbf}
