Quick Release Connector Type

Type A Removal

Caution
• Switch the ignition off, wait for several minutes, and then perform the removal. Otherwise, the internal pressure in the urea hose may continue to be preset directly after driving.
• To prevent the penetration of foreign matter, wipe off any soiling or dirt from around the connection area before performing the work.

1.Press in the retainer of the quick release connector.

2.Pull the quick release connector and disconnect it from the insertion port.

3.Cover the quick release connector and the insertion port with vinyl sheeting or a similar material to prevent scratches or penetration of dirt.


Type A Installation

Caution
• If the quick release connector O-ring is damaged or it has slipped, replace the urea hose.
• If urea crystals adhere to the quick release connector, flush the area with fresh water.
• If there is foreign material on the connecting area of the quick release connector, it might damage the connector or the insertion port. To prevent this, clean the connecting area before connecting the connector.
Note
• A new urea hose includes a checker tab integrated with the quick connector part.

1.Inspect the quick release connector and the insertion port sealing surfaces for damage and deformation.

• If there is any malfunction, replace with a new part.

2.Insert the quick release connector into the insertion port until a click is heard.

Note
• If a checker tab is available, insert the quick release connector completely and then remove the checker tab.

3.Lightly push and pull the quick release connector by hand to verify that it can move approx. 2.0 mm {0.079 in}, and it is connected securely.

• If the quick release connector does not move at all or there is strong resistance when pushing and pulling the connector, disconnect the connector and verify that the O-ring is not damaged or it has not slipped.
