• Use the IDS (laptop PC) because the PDS (Pocket PC) does not support the INTAKE SHUTTER VALVE/EGR VALVE INITIALIZATION.

1.Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.

2.After the vehicle is identified, select the following items from the initial screen of the M-MDS.

1. Select the “Powertrain”.

2. Select the “EGR/ETB Initialization”.

3.Perform the procedure according to the directions on the screen.

4.Retrieve DTC’s using the M-MDS, then verify if DTCs are present.

• If a DTC is present, perform the applicable DTC inspection.
