27	Gear position indicator light does not illuminate in M range
DESCRIPTION	• Gear position indicator light in instrument cluster does not illuminate in M range with the ignition switch at ON.
POSSIBLE CAUSE	• M range switch, gear position indicator light or related wiring harness malfunction Note • Before following the troubleshooting steps, make sure that the Automatic Transaxle On-Board Diagnostic and Automatic Transaxle Basic Inspection are conducted. (See BASIC INSPECTION [AW6A-EL, AW6AX-EL].)

Diagnostic procedure

STEP	INSPECTION		ACTION
1	• Do other indicator lights illuminate with the ignition switch at ON?	Yes	Go to the next step.
1		No	Inspect the meter fuse.
2	• Access the TCM PID MNL SW using the M-MDS. (See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM PID/DATA MONITOR INSPECTION [AW6A-EL, AW6AX-EL].) • Monitor the MNL SW PID with move the selector lever to all position and range. • Does the MNL SW PID indicate properly?	Yes	Inspect the instrument cluster.
2		No	Inspect the M range switch. If the M range switch is normal, inspect for continuity between the M range switch and TCM terminal A7.
3	• Verify test results. ― If normal, return to the diagnostic index to service any additional symptoms. ― If malfunction remains, inspect the related Service Information and perform repair or diagnosis. • If the vehicle is repaired, troubleshooting completed. • If the vehicle is not repaired or additional diagnostic information is not available, replace the TCM.
