DESCRIPTION
|
• Gear position indicator light in instrument cluster does not illuminate in M range with the ignition switch at ON.
|
|
POSSIBLE CAUSE
|
• M range switch, gear position indicator light or related wiring harness malfunction
|

• Do other indicator lights illuminate with the ignition switch at ON?

Yes
|
Go to the next step.

No
|
Inspect the meter fuse.
|

• Access the TCM PID MNL SW using the M-MDS. (See
ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM PID/DATA MONITOR INSPECTION [AW6A-EL, AW6AX-EL].)
• Monitor the MNL SW PID with move the selector lever to all position and range.
• Does the MNL SW PID indicate properly?

Yes
|
Inspect the instrument cluster.
|

No
|
Inspect the M range switch.
If the M range switch is normal, inspect for continuity between the M range switch and TCM terminal A7.
