CLUTCH COVER INSPECTION [L3 Turbo]

1.Refer to CLUTCH UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION to remove the clutch cover. (See CLUTCH UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [L3 Turbo].)

2.Measure the wear of the diaphragm spring fingers.

• If it exceeds the maximum specification, replace the clutch cover. (See CLUTCH UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [L3 Turbo].)

3.Measure the flatness of the pressure plate with a straight edge and a feeler gauge.

• If it exceeds the maximum specification, replace the clutch cover. (See CLUTCH UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [L3 Turbo].)

4.When checking the diaphragm spring fingers, mount a dial indicator on the cylinder block.

5.Rotate the flywheel and check for misaligned diaphragm spring fingers.

6.Install in the reverse order of removal.

7.Start the engine, and inspect and adjust the following:

• Air bleeding (See CLUTCH FLUID AIR BLEEDING/REPLACEMENT.)
• Bleed the air from the cooling system. (See ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT [L3 Turbo].)
• Runout and contact on pulley and belt
• Leakage of engine oil, engine coolant, transaxle oil.
• Ignition timing, idle speed and idle mixture (CO and HC)
• Engine accessories operation

8.Perform a road test and verify that there is no abnormal vibration or noise.
