CLUTCH DISC INSPECTION [L3 Turbo]

1.Refer to CLUTCH UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION to remove the clutch disc. (See CLUTCH UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [L3 Turbo].)

2.Using vernier calipers, measure the thickness of the lining at a rivet head on both sides.

• If it less than the minimum specification, replace the clutch disc. (See CLUTCH UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [L3 Turbo].)
Minimum clutch disc thickness
0.3 mm {0.012 in}

3.Measure the clutch disc runout using a dial indicator.

• If it exceeds the maximum specification, replace the clutch disc. (See CLUTCH UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [L3 Turbo].)
Maximum clutch disc runout
0.7 mm {0.028 in}

4.Install in the reverse order of removal.

5.Start the engine, and inspect and adjust the following:

• Air bleeding (See CLUTCH FLUID AIR BLEEDING/REPLACEMENT.)
• Bleed the air from the cooling system. (See ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT [L3 Turbo].)
• Runout and contact on pulley and belt
• Leakage of engine oil, engine coolant, transaxle oil.
• Ignition timing, idle speed and idle mixture (CO and HC)
• Engine accessories operation

6.Perform a road test and verify that there is no abnormal vibration or noise.
