DETECTION CONDITION
• CPU detects malfunction in fuel pump (water heater system) circuit
POSSIBLE CAUSE
• Open circuit between water heater unit terminal B and fuel pump (water heater system) terminal A
• Short to ground between water heater unit terminal B and fuel pump (water heater system) terminal A
• Open circuit between fuel pump (water heater system) terminal B and GND
• Fuel pump (water heater system) malfunction
• Water heater unit malfunction

INSPECT FUEL PUMP (WATER HEATER SYSTEM) CIRCUIT FOR OPEN CIRCUIT
• Inspect the wiring harness for continuity between the fuel pump (water heater system) connector terminal A and water heater unit connector terminal B.
• Is there continuity?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair/replace the malfunctioning vehicle wiring harness, then go to Step 6.

INSPECT FUEL PUMP (WATER HEATER SYSTEM) CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO GROUND
• Inspect the wiring harness for continuity between the fuel pump (water heater system) connector terminal A and body ground.
• Is there continuity?
Yes
Repair/replace the malfunctioning vehicle wiring harness, then go to Step 6.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT FUEL PUMP (WATER HEATER SYSTEM) GND CIRCUIT FOR OPEN CIRCUIT
• Inspect the wiring harness for continuity between the fuel pump (water heater system) connector terminal B and body ground.
• Is there continuity?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair/replace the malfunctioning vehicle wiring harness, then go to Step 6.

INSPECT FUEL PUMP (WATER HEATER SYSTEM)
• Inspect the fuel pump (water heater system). (See FUEL PUMP (WATER HEATER SYSTEM) INSPECTION [FULL-AUTO AIR CONDITIONER].)
• Is fuel pump (water heater system) okay?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Replace the fuel pump (water heater system), then go to Step 6.

INSPECT WATER HEATER UNIT
• Perform the water heater system operation check.
• Clear DTCs using the M-MDS.
• Perform the water heater unit DTC inspection using the M-MDS. (See DTC DISPLAY [WATER HEATER SYSTEM].) (See DTC DISPLAY [FULL-AUTO AIR CONDITIONER]
• Are DTCs B1D25:11, B1D25:12 or B1D25:13 displayed?
Yes
Replace the water heater unit, then go to the next step.

No
Go to the next step.

VERIFY AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE
• Perform after repair procedure. (See DTC DISPLAY [WATER HEATER SYSTEM].) (See DTC DISPLAY [FULL-AUTO AIR CONDITIONER].)
• Are any DTCs present?
Yes
Go to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
No
Troubleshooting completed.
