POSSIBLE CAUSE
|
• No keys have been registered after replacing the instrument cluster
• Unregistered key used
• Attempt made to register a ninth key
• Instrument cluster malfunction

VERIFY NUMBER OF REGISTERED KEYS
• Using the M-MDS, perform the PID/data monitor inspection and confirm the number of registered keys. (See
PID/DATA MONITOR TABLE [IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM (KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM)].)
• Are one or more keys registered?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No
|
Go to Step 3.

VERIFY NUMBER OF REGISTERED KEYS
• Using the M-MDS, perform the PID/data monitor inspection and confirm the number of registered keys. (See
PID/DATA MONITOR TABLE [IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM (KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM)].)
• Are eight keys registered?

Yes
|
Using the M-MDS, clear the key ID numbers as necessary, then go to the next step.

No
|
Go to the next step.

|
INSPECT INSTRUMENT CLUSTER
• Using the M-MDS, register the key ID number. (See
IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM-RELATED PARTS PROGRAMMING [KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM].)
• Using the registered key, turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
• Is the DTC displayed again?

Yes
|
Replace the instrument cluster and perform the resetting procedure for the immobilizer system when replacing the instrument cluster.
|
|
No
|
DTC troubleshooting completed.
