DESCRIPTION

Erratic signal from climate control unit

DETECTION CONDITION
• Correct data cannot be received from climate control unit.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
• Climate control unit DTC is stored
• Climate control unit malfunction
• Instrument cluster malfunction

CONFIRM CLIMATE CONTROL UNIT DTC
• Perform the DTC inspection to confirm the climate control unit DTC using the M-MDS. (See DTC DISPLAY [WATER HEATER SYSTEM].) (See DTC DISPLAY [FULL-AUTO AIR CONDITIONER].)
• Are any DTCs present?
Yes
Go to the applicable DTC inspection.
No
Go to the next step.

CONFIRM INSTRUMENT CLUSTER DTC
• Clear the DTC from the instrument cluster using the M-MDS. (See CLEARING DTC [INSTRUMENT CLUSTER].)
• Turn the ignition switch to the ON position and wait for 25 s or more.
• Drive the vehicle at speed of 30 km/h {19 mph} or more with 500 rpm or more.
• Perform the “DTC INSPECTION” to confirm the instrument cluster DTC using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION [INSTRUMENT CLUSTER].)
• Is the same DTC present?
Yes
Replace the climate control unit, then go to the next step.
No
Go to Step 4.

VERIFY TROUBLESHOOTING COMPLETED
• Clear the DTC from the instrument cluster using the M-MDS. (See CLEARING DTC [INSTRUMENT CLUSTER].)
• Turn the ignition switch to the ON position and wait for 25 s or more.
• Drive the vehicle at speed of 30 km/h {19 mph} or more with 500 rpm or more.
• Perform the “DTC INSPECTION” to confirm the instrument cluster DTC using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION [INSTRUMENT CLUSTER].)
• Is the same DTC present?
Yes
Replace the instrument cluster, then go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.

VERIFY THAT NO OTHER DTCs ARE PRESENT
• Are any DTCs present?
Yes
Go to the applicable DTC inspection.
No
DTC troubleshooting completed.
