• Illumination command signal from 4WD control module continues for
20 s or more.
|

POSSIBLE CAUSE
|
• 4WD control module DTC is stored
• 4WD control module malfunction
• Instrument cluster malfunction

CONFIRM 4WD CONTROL MODULE DTC
• Perform the DTC inspection to confirm the 4WD control module DTC. (See
ELECTRONIC 4WD CONTROL SYSTEM ON-BOARD DIAGNOSIS.)
• Are any DTCs present?

Yes
|
Go to the applicable DTC inspection.
|
|
No
|
Go to the next step.
|

CONFIRM INSTRUMENT CLUSTER DTC
• Clear the DTC from the instrument cluster using the M-MDS. (See
CLEARING DTC [INSTRUMENT CLUSTER].)
• Turn the ignition switch to the ON position and wait for
20 s or more.
• Drive the vehicle at speed of
30 km/h {19 mph} or more with
500 rpm or more.
• Perform the “DTC INSPECTION” to confirm the instrument cluster DTC using the M-MDS. (See
DTC INSPECTION [INSTRUMENT CLUSTER].)
• Is the same DTC present?

Yes
|
Replace the 4WD control module, then go to the next step.
|

No
|
Go to Step 4.
|

VERIFY TROUBLESHOOTING COMPLETED
• Clear the DTC from the instrument cluster using the M-MDS. (See
CLEARING DTC [INSTRUMENT CLUSTER].)
• Turn the ignition switch to the ON position and wait for
20 s or more.
• Drive the vehicle at speed of
30 km/h {19 mph} or more with
500 rpm or more.

Yes
