Drive door ajar circuit short to ground

DETECTION CONDITION
• Short to ground in wiring harness between BCM and front door switch (driver-side)
POSSIBLE CAUSE
• Front door switch (driver-side) connector or terminal malfunction
• BCM connector or terminal malfunction
• Short to ground in wiring harness between BCM terminal 5AB and front door switch (driver-side) terminal A
• Front door switch (driver-side) malfunction
• BCM malfunction

INSPECT FRONT DOOR SWITCH (DRIVER-SIDE) CONNECTOR CONDITION
• Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
• Disconnect the negative battery cable.
• Disconnect the front door switch (driver-side) connector.
• Inspect the connector and terminals for poor connection (such as damaged/pulled-out pins, and corrosion).
• Is there any malfunction?
Yes
Repair or replace the connector and/or terminal, then go to Step 5.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT BCM CONNECTOR CONDITION
• Disconnect the BCM connector.
• Inspect the connector and terminals for poor connection (such as damaged/pulled-out pins, and corrosion).
• Is there any malfunction?
Yes
Repair or replace the connector and/or terminal, then go to Step 5.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT FRONT DOOR SWITCH (DRIVER-SIDE) SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO GROUND
• Front door switch (driver-side) and BCM connectors are disconnected.
• Inspect for continuity between front door switch (driver-side) terminal A (wiring harness-side) and body ground.
• Is there continuity?
Yes
Repair or replace the wiring harness for a possible short to ground, then go to Step 5.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT FRONT DOOR SWITCH (DRIVER-SIDE)
• Inspect the front door switch (driver-side). (See FRONT DOOR LATCH AND LOCK ACTUATOR INSPECTION.)
• Is there any malfunction ?
Yes
Replace the front door latch and lock actuator (driver-side), then go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.
5
VERIFY TROUBLESHOOTING COMPLETED
• Make sure to reconnect all disconnected connectors.
• Clear the DTC from the BCM using the M-MDS. (See CLEARING DTC [BCM].)
• Perform the BCM DTC inspection using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION [BCM].)
• Is the same DTC present?
Yes
Replace the BCM.
No
DTC troubleshooting completed.
