DETECTION CONDITION
|
• Open circuit in wiring harness between BCM and parking brake switch
|
|
POSSIBLE CAUSE
|
• Parking brake switch connector or terminal malfunction
• BCM connector or terminal malfunction
• Parking brake switch malfunction
• Open circuit in wiring harness between BCM terminal 1A and parking brake switch terminal A
• BCM malfunction

INSPECT PARKING BRAKE SWITCH CONNECTOR CONDITION
• Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
• Disconnect the negative battery cable.
• Disconnect the parking brake switch connector.
• Inspect the connector and terminals for poor connection (such as damaged/pulled-out pins, and corrosion).
• Is there any malfunction?

Yes
|
Repair or replace the connector and/or terminal, then go to Step 5.
|
|
No
|
Go to the next step.
|

INSPECT BCM CONNECTOR CONDITION
• Disconnect the BCM connector.
• Inspect the connector and terminals for poor connection (such as damaged/pulled-out pins, and corrosion).
• Is there any malfunction?
|
Yes
|
Repair or replace the connector and/or terminal, then go to Step 5.
|
|
No
|
Go to the next step.
|

INSPECT PARKING BRAKE SWITCH
• Inspect the parking brake switch. (See
PARKING BRAKE SWITCH INSPECTION.)
• Is there any malfunction
?

Yes
|
Replace the parking brake switch, then go to Step 5.
|
|
No
|
Go to the next step.

INSPECT PARKING BRAKE SWITCH SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR OPEN CIRCUIT
• Parking brake switch and BCM connectors are disconnected.
• Inspect for continuity between parking brake switch terminal A (wiring harness-side) and BCM terminal 1A (wiring harness-side).
• Is there continuity?

Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|
|
No
|
Repair or replace the wiring harness for a possible open circuit, then go to the next step.

|
VERIFY TROUBLESHOOTING COMPLETED
• Make sure to reconnect all disconnected connectors.
• Clear the DTC from the BCM using the M-MDS. (See
CLEARING DTC [BCM].)
• Perform the BCM DTC inspection using the M-MDS. (See
DTC INSPECTION [BCM].)
• Is the same DTC present?

Yes
|
Replace the BCM.
|
|
No
|
DTC troubleshooting completed.
