Oil pressure switch circuit failure
DETECTION CONDITION
• Open circuit in wiring harness between BCM and oil pressure switch
POSSIBLE CAUSE
• Oil pressure switch connector or terminal malfunction
• BCM connector or terminal malfunction
• Oil pressure switch malfunction
• Open circuit in wiring harness between BCM terminal 1E and oil pressure switch terminal A
• BCM malfunction

Diagnostic procedure

INSPECTION

ACTION
1
INSPECT OIL PRESSURE SWITCH CONNECTOR CONDITION
• Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
• Disconnect the negative battery cable.
• Disconnect the oil pressure switch connector.
• Inspect the connector and terminals for poor connection (such as damaged/pulled-out pins, and corrosion).
• Is there any malfunction?
Yes
Repair or replace the connector and/or terminal, then go to Step 5.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT BCM CONNECTOR CONDITION
• Disconnect the BCM connector.
• Inspect the connector and terminals for poor connection (such as damaged/pulled-out pins, and corrosion).
• Is there any malfunction?
Yes
Repair or replace the connector and/or terminal, then go to Step 5.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT OIL PRESSURE SWITCH
• Inspect the oil pressure switch. (See OIL PRESSURE SWITCH INSPECTION.)
• Is there any malfunction ?
Yes
Replace the oil pressure switch, then go to Step 5.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT OIL PRESSURE SWITCH SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR OPEN CIRCUIT
• Oil pressure switch and BCM connectors are disconnected.
• Inspect for continuity between oil pressure switch terminal A (wiring harness-side) and BCM terminal 1E (wiring harness-side).
• Is there continuity?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair or replace the wiring harness for a possible open circuit, then go to the next step.

VERIFY TROUBLESHOOTING COMPLETED
• Make sure to reconnect all disconnected connectors.
• Clear the DTC from the BCM using the M-MDS. (See CLEARING DTC [BCM].)
• Turn the ignition switch to the ON position (engine off).
• Perform the BCM DTC inspection using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION [BCM].)
• Is the same DTC present?
Yes
Replace the BCM.

No
DTC troubleshooting completed.
