No voice navigation.

POSSIBLE CAUSE
• Improper adjustment of the navigation voice volume
• Car-navigation unit malfunction
• Poor connection of front door speaker connector, terminal damage
• Front door speaker malfunction
• Poor connection of car-navigation unit connector, terminal damage
• Open or short circuit in wiring harness between car-navigation unit and front door speaker through audio amplifier.
• Poor connection of audio amplifier connector, terminal damage

Diagnostic procedure

• Is the voice navigation mute?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Turn on the voice navigation.

• Turn the audio power switch (CD, radio) to ON.
• Does the front speaker work?
Yes
Go to Step 6.
No
Go to the next step.

• Turn the ignition switch to LOCK position.
• Remove the front door speaker. (See FRONT DOOR SPEAKER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
• Is front door speaker securely connected?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Securely connect the front door speaker connector.

• Disconnect the front door speaker connector (2-pin).
• Inspect both the front door speaker and wiring harness-side connector for poor connection (such as damaged/pulled out pins, corrosion).
• Are all the pins normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
If the front door speaker connector is wrong:
• Replace the front door speaker. (See FRONT DOOR SPEAKER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
If the wiring harness-side connector is wrong:
• Repair or replace the pins and/or the connector.

• Inspect the front door speaker. (See FRONT DOOR SPEAKER INSPECTION.)
• Is it normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Replace the front door speaker.

• Inspect the connection of car-navigation unit connector (24-pin).
• Is the connector securely connected?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Securely connect the car-navigation unit connector.

• Disconnect the car-navigation unit connector (24-pin).
• Inspect both the car-navigation unit and wiring harness-side connector for poor connection (such as damaged/pulled out pins, corrosion).
• Are all pins normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
If the car-navigation unit connector is wrong:
• Replace the car-navigation unit. (See CAR-NAVIGATION UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
If the wiring harness-side connector is wrong:
• Repair or replace the pins and/or the connector.

• Inspect the continuity between the following terminals:
― Car-navigation unit terminal 3O (NAVI+) — audio amplifier terminal 1H
― Car-navigation unit terminal 3P (NAVI-) — audio amplifier terminal 1G
• Is there continuity?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
• Repair or replace the related wiring harness between the audio amplifier and the car-navigation unit.
• Then go to the next step.

• Inspect the connection of the audio amplifier connector.
• Is the connector connected securely?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Securely connect the audio amplifier.
10
• Turn the ignition switch to LOCK position.
• Disconnect the audio amplifier connector.
• Inspect the continuity between the following terminals:
― Audio amplifier terminal 2N — front door speaker (LH-) terminal A
― Audio amplifier terminal 2L — front door speaker (LH+) terminal B
― Audio amplifier terminal 2M — front door speaker (RH-) terminal A
― Audio amplifier terminal 2K — front door speaker (RH+) terminal B
• Is there continuity?
Yes
Troubleshooting is completed.
No
Repair or replace the related wiring harness.
