Diagnostic procedure

STEP

INSPECTION

ACTION

1
VERIFY IF MALFUNCTION CAUSE IS POOR CONNECTION IN MULTI INFORMATION DISPLAY CONNECTOR
• Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
• Inspect the connection of the multi information display connectors.
• Are the multi information display connectors connected securely?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Securely connect the multi information display.
2
VERIFY IF MALFUNCTION CAUSE IS DAMAGE AND/OR PULLED-OUT MULTI INFORMATION DISPLAY CONNECTOR TERMINAL
• Disconnect the multi information display connectors.
• Are all the pins normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
If the multi information display connector is incorrect:
• Replace the multi information display.
If the wiring harness-side connector is incorrect:
• Repair or replace the pins and/or the connector.
3
VERIFY IF MALFUNCTION CAUSE IS OPEN CIRCUIT IN MULTI INFORMATION DISPLAY GROUND CIRCUIT
• Leave the multi information display connector disconnected.
• Verify if there is continuity between the multi information display vehicle side connector terminal 1W and body ground.
• Is there continuity?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair the open circuit in the wiring harness.
Verify the connection condition of the ground point, and repair.
4
INSPECT MULTI INFORMATION DISPLAY POWER SUPPLY (B+) SYSTEM
• Leave the multi information display connector disconnected.
• Measure the voltage between multi information display wiring harness side connector terminal 1A and body ground.
• Is the voltage B+?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Inspect the ROOM 15A fuse.
If the fuse is damaged:
• Replace the ROOM 15A fuse.
If the fuse is burned out:
• Inspect and repair the wiring harness between the ROOM 15A fuse and multi information display terminal 1A for a short circuit to the ground system.
If the fuse is not damaged or burned out:
• Inspect and repair the wiring harness for an open circuit between battery positive terminal and multi information display terminal 1A.
5
INSPECT MULTI INFORMATION DISPLAY POWER SUPPLY (ACC) SYSTEM
• Leave the multi information display connector disconnected.
• Turn the ignition switch to the ACC position.
• Measure the voltage between multi information display wiring harness side connector terminal 1C and body ground.
• Is the voltage B+?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Inspect the P.MIR 7.5A fuse.
If the fuse is damaged:
• Replace the P.MIR 7.5A fuse.
If the fuse is burned out:
• Inspect and repair the wiring harness between the P.MIR 7.5A fuse and multi information display terminal 1C for a short circuit to the ground system.
If the fuse is not damaged or burned out:
• Inspect and repair the following wiring harness for an open circuit:
― Between ignition switch terminal D and multi information display terminal 1C
6
INSPECT MULTI INFORMATION DISPLAY POWER SUPPLY (IG1) SYSTEM
• Leave the multi information display connector disconnected.
• Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
• Measure the voltage between multi information display wiring harness side connector terminal 1E and body ground.
• Is the voltage B+?
Yes
Replace the multi information display. (Multi information display internal malfunction)
No
Inspect the METER 15A fuse.
If the fuse is damaged:
• Replace the METER 15A fuse.
If the fuse is burned out:
• Inspect and repair the wiring harness between the METER 15A fuse and multi information display terminal 1E for a short circuit to the ground system.
If the fuse is not damaged or burned out:
• Inspect and repair the following wiring harness for an open circuit:
― Between ignition switch terminal C and multi information display terminal 1E
