|
• Rear mount camera malfunction
• Poor connection of the rear mount camera connector, terminal damage
• Poor connection of the multi information display connector, terminal damage
• Open or short circuit in wiring harness between multi information display and rear mount camera
• Open or short circuit in reverse signal wiring harness
• Multi information display malfunction

Clean the lens of the rear mount camera or remove the obstruction.

• Does the lens of the rear mount camera have a crack and damage?

Yes

Replace the rear mount camera.

No

Go to the next step.

• Retrieve the TCM, instrument cluster and multi information display DTCs using the M-MDS. (See
ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM DTC INSPECTION [FS5A-EL].) (See
ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM DTC INSPECTION [AW6A-EL, AW6AX-EL].) (See
DTC INSPECTION [INSTRUMENT CLUSTER].) (See
DTC INSPECTION [MULTI INFORMATION DISPLAY].)
• Is there any DTC displayed?

Yes
|
Perform the applicable DTC diagnosis procedure.
|

No
|
Go to the next step.

• Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
• Remove the rear mount camera.
• Inspect the connection of the rear mount camera connector (4-pin).
• Inspect both the rear mount camera and wiring harness-side connector for poor connection (such as damaged/pulled-out pins, corrosion).
• Are all the pins normal?

Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|
|
No
|
If poor connection of rear mount camera connector:
• Securely connect the rear mount camera connector.
If the rear mount camera connector is wrong:
• Replace the rear mount camera. (See
REAR MOUNT CAMERA REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
If the wiring harness-side connector is wrong:
• Repair or replace the pins and/or the connector.

• Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
• Remove the multi information display.
• Inspect the connection of the multi information display connector (24-pin).
• Disconnect the multi information display connector (24-pin).
• Inspect both the multi information display connector terminal for poor connection (such as damaged/pulled-out pins, corrosion).
• Are all the pins normal?

Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|
|
No
|
If poor connection of multi information display connector:
• Securely connect the multi information display connector.
If the multi information display connector is wrong:
• Replace the multi information display. (See
MULTI INFORMATION DISPLAY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
If the wiring harness-side connector is wrong:
• Repair or replace the pins and/or the connector.

• Inspect the following wiring harnesses between the multi information display and rear mount camera.
• Is there open or short circuit?

Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|

No
|
Inspect the suspect wiring harness.
Repair or replace if necessary.
|

• Access the TCM PID TR using the M-MDS. (See
ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM PID/DATA MONITOR INSPECTION [FS5A-EL].) (See
ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM PID/DATA MONITOR INSPECTION [AW6A-EL, AW6AX-EL].)
• Shift the selector lever all position and ranges.
• Is the PID value properly?

Yes
|
Replace the rear mount camera, then inspect generating of malfunction symptom.
Even if it exchanges rear mount camera, when a fault phenomenon occurs:
• Replace the multi information display. (See
MULTI INFORMATION DISPLAY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
• Reinspect the malfunction symptom, then repeat from Step 1 if malfunction recurs.

Repair or replace malfunctioning part according to inspection result.
