Caution

• The reflection rate at the moment the ignition switch is first turned on after replacing the rain sensor with a new one is stored as the condition indicating zero precipitation on the windshield. Therefore, before turning on the ignition switch, remove water and dirt from the windshield.

• In addition, rain sensor initialization is performed for the following cases: (See RAIN SENSOR INITIALIZATION SETTING.)

― The windshield is replaced and the rain sensor is reused.

― The auto wiper system operates incorrectly.

• Perform the auto light/wiper control module configuration after newly replacing the rain sensor to assure that the auto light/wiper system operates correctly.

• The rain sensor is integrated with the auto light sensor as a single unit.

1.Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2.Remove the rearview mirror cover. (See REARVIEW MIRROR REMOVAL.) (See REARVIEW MIRROR INSTALLATION.)

3.Disconnect the rain sensor connector.

4.Slide the tab in the direction of the arrow and remove the rain sensor.

5.Install in the reverse order of removal.

6.Perform the auto light/wiper control module configuration after newly replacing the rain sensor. (See AUTO LIGHT/WIPER CONTROL MODULE CONFIGURATION.)
