PARKING BRAKE ADJUSTMENT [MTX]

1.  Adjust the brake pedal shoe. (See PARKING BRAKE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MTX]

2.  Remove the service hole cover inside the rear console using the following procedure.

(1)  Remove the storage box from the rear console.

(2)  Pull the part shown in the figure of the service hole cover in the direction of the arrow to detach the clips.

(3)  Pull up the service hole cover in the direction of the arrow and remove it from the rear console.

3.  Turn the adjusting nut and adjust the parking brake lever.

4.  After adjustment, inspect the following points:

(1)  Turn the ignition switch on, pull the parking brake lever one notch and verify that the brake system warning light illuminates.

(2)  Verify that the rear brakes do not drag.
