BARO sensor circuit low input

DETECTION CONDITION

•  With the following conditions met, the BARO pressure sensor output voltage is less than 40 kPafor a continuous 5 s.

―  Battery voltage: 8—16 V

―  0.5 s have elapsed after ignition is switched ON (engine off or on)

Diagnostic support note

•  This is a continuous monitor (CCM).

•  The check engine light illuminates if the PCM detects the above malfunction condition during the first drive cycle.

•  FREEZE FRAME DATA/Snapshot data is available.

•  DTC is stored in the PCM memory.

FAIL-SAFE FUNCTION

•  Limits the engine torque/limits the maximum engine speed.

•  Inhibits the automatic diesel particulate filter regeneration control.

•  Inhibits the manual diesel particulate filter regeneration control.

•  Inhibits the EGR control.

•  Stops the G-vectoring control (GVC).

•  Limits the engine transaxle total control.

•  Inhibits engine-stop by i-stop control.

POSSIBLE CAUSE

•  BARO sensor malfunction (integrated with PCM)

•  PCM malfunction

INSPECT BARO SENSOR

•  Inspect the BARO sensor.
(See BAROMETRIC PRESSURE (BARO) SENSOR INSPECTION [SKYACTIV-D 2.2].)

•  Is the BARO sensor normal?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No

Replace the PCM, then go to the next step.

(See PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-D 2.2].)

VERIFY THAT REPAIRS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED

•  Refer to the [MEMORY CLEARING PROCEDURE] and clear the DTC.
(See CLEARING DTC [PCM (SKYACTIV-D 2.2)].)

•  Perform the KOEO or KOER self-test.
(See KOEO/KOER SELF TEST [PCM (SKYACTIV-D 2.2)].)

•  Has DTC P2228:00 been recorded?

Yes

Replace the PCM, then go to the next step.

(See PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-D 2.2].)

No

Go to the next step.

VERIFY OTHER DTCs

•  Has any other DTC or pending code been stored?

Yes

Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.

No

DTC troubleshooting completed.

3	VERIFY THAT REPAIRS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED • Refer to the [MEMORY CLEARING PROCEDURE] and clear the DTC. (See CLEARING DTC [PCM (SKYACTIV-D 2.2)].) • Perform the KOEO or KOER self-test.
