DTC P2463:00	diesel particulate filter: Excess diesel particulate filter accumulation (large)
DETECTION CONDITION	•  Amount of accumulated soot exceeds 13 g/l because of diesel particulate filter clogging. Diagnostic support note •  This is a continuous monitor (CCM). •  The check engine light illuminates if the PCM detects the above malfunction condition during the first drive cycle. •  FREEZE FRAME DATA/Snapshot data is available. •  DTC is stored in the PCM memory.
FAIL-SAFE FUNCTION	•  Limits engine torque. •  Inhibits the automatic diesel particulate filter regeneration control. •  Inhibits the EGR control. •  Limits engine torque.
POSSIBLE CAUSE	•  Pipe clogging or damage between exhaust gas pressure sensor No.2 and catalytic converter •  diesel particulate filter clogging or damage •  PCM malfunction

Diagnostic Procedure

Step	Inspection	Results	Action
1	VERIFY DTC CAUSING FREEZE FRAME DATA •  Is DTC P2463:00 causing the freeze frame data?	Yes	Go to the next step.
		No	Inspect the DTC causing the freeze frame data. (See DTC TABLE [PCM (SKYACTIV-D 2.2)])
2	RECORD VEHICLE STATUS WHEN DTC WAS DETECTED TO UTILIZE WITH REPEATABILITY VERIFICATION Note •  Recording can be facilitated using the screen capture function of the PC. •  Record the freeze frame data/snap shot data.	—	Go to the next step.
3	INSPECT EXHAUST GAS PRESSURE SENSOR NO.2 RELATED PIPING •  Inspect exhaust gas pressure sensor No.2-related piping for clogging, damage, and loss. (See EXHAUST GAS PRESSURE SENSOR INSPECTION [SKYACTIV-D 2.2].) •  Is the exhaust gas pressure sensor No.2 piping normal?	Yes	Perform fuel injection amount learning and implement compulsory diesel particulate filter regeneration. (See FUEL INJECTOR INJECTION AMOUNT CORRECTION [SKYACTIV-D 2.2].) (See DIESEL PARTICULATE FILTER DATA RESET [SKYACTIV-D 2.2].) Go to the next step. Note •  If any of the following DTCs are stored, compulsory diesel particulate filter regeneration cannot be implemented due to the PCM control. •  Perform applicable DTC troubleshooting then perform compulsory diesel particulate filter regeneration. •  DTC P0093:00, P0102:00, P0103:00, P0107:00, P0108:00, P0112:00, P0113:00, P0117:00, P0118:00, P0201:00, P0202:00, P0203:00, P0204:00, P0313:00, P0337:00, P0406:00, P0500:00, P0545:00, P0546:00, P0605:00, P0606:00, P115A:00, P1378:00, P1379:00, P2032:00, P2033:00, P2146:00, P2147:00, P2148:00, P2149:00, P2150:00, P2151:00, P2228:00, P2229:00, P242C:00, P242D:00, P242F:00*, P2454:00, P2455:00, P2463:00*, P253F:00, P2621:00 *When a high quantity of soot has accumulated in the diesel particulate filter and the PCM has stored DTC P242F:00 or P2463:00, compulsory diesel particulate filter regeneration cannot be implemented.
		No	Repair or replace the malfunctioning location, then go to Step 5.
4	VERIFY DTCs •  Refer to the [MEMORY CLEARING PROCEDURE] and clear the DTC. (See CLEARING DTC [PCM (SKYACTIV-D 2.2)].) •  Start the engine and drive the vehicle under the freeze frame data/snapshot data condition. Warning •  To prevent an accident, work with another person when the vehicle is being driven (one person drives vehicle, other person operates M-MDS). •  Observe legal speed limits when driving the vehicle and perform the procedure in a location where safety can be assured. •  Display the DTCs using the M-MDS. (See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC TEST [PCM (SKYACTIV-D 2.2)].) •  Has DTC P2463:00 been recorded?	Yes	diesel particulate filter clogging in the catalytic converter, damage, or loss can be considered. •  Replace the catalytic converter, then go to the next step. (See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-D 2.2].)
		No	Go to Step 6.
5	VERIFY THAT REPAIRS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED •  Reconnect all disconnected connectors and hoses. •  Refer to the [MEMORY CLEARING PROCEDURE] and clear the DTC. (See CLEARING DTC [PCM (SKYACTIV-D 2.2)].) •  Start the engine and drive the vehicle under the freeze frame data/snapshot data condition. Warning •  To prevent an accident, work with another person when the vehicle is being driven (one person drives vehicle, other person operates M-MDS). •  Observe legal speed limits when driving the vehicle and perform the procedure in a location where safety can be assured. •  Display the DTCs using the M-MDS. (See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC TEST [PCM (SKYACTIV-D 2.2)].) •  Has DTC P2463:00 been recorded?	Yes	Repeat the inspection from Step 1. •  If the malfunction recurs, replace the PCM, then go to the next step. (See PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-D 2.2].)
		No	Go to the next step.
6	VERIFY OTHER DTCs •  Has any other DTC or pending code been stored?	Yes	Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting. (See DTC TABLE [PCM (SKYACTIV-D 2.2)].)
		No	Referring to each adjustment procedure, perform fuel injection amount learning and the diesel particulate filter data reset. (See FUEL INJECTOR INJECTION AMOUNT CORRECTION [SKYACTIV-D 2.2].) (See DIESEL PARTICULATE FILTER DATA RESET [SKYACTIV-D 2.2].) DTC troubleshooting completed.
