Details on DTCs

System malfunction location

Coolant control valve control: Internal malfunction

Detection condition
Determination condition
•  The coolant control valve position sensor determines that the coolant control valve has an internal malfunction, and the PCM receives an error signal from the coolant control valve position sensor for 5 s.
Preconditions
•  Not applicable
Drive cycle
•  2
Self-test type
•  CMDTC self test
Sensor/unit used
•  Coolant control valve position sensor
Fail-safe
•  Limits engine torque.
•  Inhibits the EGR control.
Vehicle status when DTCs are output
•  Check engine light turns on
Possible cause
•  Coolant control valve/coolant control valve position sensor connector or terminal malfunction
•  PCM connector or terminal malfunction
•  Coolant control valve position sensor malfunction

System Wiring Diagram

Function Explanation (DTC Detection Outline)

•  The coolant control valve position sensor diagnoses the internal condition of the coolant control valve.
•  The PCM receives the error signal from the coolant control valve position sensor, determines an internal malfunction of the coolant control valve, and stores the DTC.

Repeatability Verification Procedure

•  Not applicable
