Purpose, Function

• When the PM accumulation amount in the diesel particulate filter exceeds a certain value, the diesel particulate filter indication and a message in the multi-information display are displayed simultaneously to inform the driver that DPF regeneration is required.

• The diesel particulate filter indication is displayed in the multi-information display.

• A warning message is displayed in the multi-information display as the same time the diesel particulate filter indication is displayed. For the message content and verification method, refer to [MULTI-INFORMATION DISPLAY]. (See MULTI-INFORMATION DISPLAY.)

Operation

• The message display conditions related to the diesel particulate filter indication are as follows:

― PM accumulation amount in diesel particulate filter is 8.0 g/L {0.50 lb/ft³} or more (turns off when it is 5.0 g/L {0.31 lb/ft³} or less)

― PM accumulation amount in DPF is 10.0 g/L {0.62 lb/ft³} or more (turns off when it is 5.0 g/L {0.31 lb/ft³} or less)

1. When the ignition is switched ON (engine off or on), the instrument cluster receives (1) the diesel particulate filter indication request signal from the PCM via CAN communication.

2. The instrument cluster displays (2) the diesel particulate filter indication in the multi-information display.
