Purpose, Function

•  Warns the driver of a 4WD system malfunction.

Construction

•  The 4WD warning indication is displayed on the multi-information display.

Operation

•  If any of the following conditions is met, the 4WD warning indication turns on or flashes, and a message is displayed in the instrument cluster.
•  The 4WD warning indication operation is controlled by the 4WD control module.

Temperature of rear differential oil is the specification or more, or when an excessively large difference in rotation speed between front or rear tires continues, such as extracting the vehicle when stuck

4WD control is temporarily stopped to protect 4WD system

1.   The instrument cluster receives (1) a system malfunction indication request signal from the 4WD control module via CAN communication.
2.  The instrument cluster displays (2) the 4WD warning indication and system malfunction on the multi-information display based on the system malfunction indication request signal.
