OFF-ROAD TRACTION ASSIST SWITCH, OFF-ROAD TRACTION ASSIST INDICATOR LIGHT
id041500109100
Purpose
• The Off-Road Traction Assist switch, located on the dashboard, allows for optionally enabling/disabling the Off-Road Traction Assist at driver discretion.
• The Off-Road Traction Assist indicator light, built into the instrument cluster, informs the driver that Off-Road Traction Assist has been disabled by operation of the Off-Road Traction Assist switch.
Functions
• The Off-Road Traction Assist switch sends a switch operation signal to the instrument cluster.
• The instrument cluster turns on the Off-Road Traction Assist indicator light based on the system condition display request signal sent via CAN communication from the DSC HU/CM.
• When the DSC system and CAN lines are functioning normally, the Off-Road Traction Assist indicator light turns on for approx. 3 s when the ignition is switched ON.
• The Off-Road Traction Assist control conditions when the Off-Road Traction Assist indicator light is on or off are as shown in the table.

Construction
• The Off-Road Traction Assist switch is located on the dashboard (cluster switch).
• The Off-Road Traction Assist indicator light is built into the instrument cluster.
Operation
Off-Road Traction Assist switch
-
1. When the Off-Road Traction Assist switch is operated, the Off-Road Traction Assist switch operation signal is sent (1) to the instrument cluster.
2. Based on the switch operation signal (detected voltage value), the instrument cluster sends (2) the Off-Road Traction Assist switch operation signal to the DSC HU/CM via CAN communication.
3. When DSC HU/CM receives the Off-Road Traction Assist switch operation signal from the instrument cluster, it switches (3) the Off-Road Traction Assist to operational or non-operational.
Off-Road Traction Assist indicator light
1. The instrument cluster receives (1) the system conditions display request signal from the DSC HU/CM via CAN communication.
2. The instrument cluster turns the transistor on (2) based on the system condition display request signal.
3. When the transistor turns on, the Off-Road Traction Assist indicator light turns on (3).

Note
-
• When the DSC system and CAN lines are functioning normally, the Off-Road Traction Assist indicator light turns on for approx. 3 s when the ignition is switched ON.
