DTC U0401:00	Signal (vehicle speed) error from PCM
DETECTION CONDITION	•  Error detected in signal from PCM via CAN communication
FAIL-SAFE FUNCTION	•  Vehicle speed signal error ―  Control is maintained in fail mode by gradually changing controlled vehicle speed ―  Power steering malfunction indication: Illuminated/Indicated •  Engine speed signal error ―  Control enabled ―  Power steering malfunction indication: Not illuminated/indicated •  i-stop condition signal error ―  EPS i-stop control is not performed, and normal control is maintained ―  Power steering malfunction indication: Not illuminated/indicated
POSSIBLE CAUSE	•  PCM malfunction
SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAM	Not applicable

Diagnostic Procedure

Step	Inspection		Action
1	INSPECT FOR PCM MALFUNCTION •  Using the M-MDS, perform the DTC inspection for the PCM. (See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC TEST [PCM (SKYACTIV-G 2.5)].) (See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC TEST [PCM (SKYACTIV-D 2.2)].) •  Are any DTCs detected?	Yes	Go to applicable DTC inspection. (See DTC TABLE [PCM (SKYACTIV-G 2.5)].) (See DTC TABLE [PCM (SKYACTIV-D 2.2)].) DTC troubleshooting completed, then go to the next step.
		No	Go to the next step.
2	VERIFY DTC TROUBLESHOOTING COMPLETED •  Clear the DTC from the memory. (See ELECTRIC POWER STEERING (EPS) ON-BOARD DIAGNOSIS [ELECTRIC POWER STEERING (EPS)].) •  Is the same Pending DTC present? (See ELECTRIC POWER STEERING (EPS) ON-BOARD DIAGNOSIS [ELECTRIC POWER STEERING (EPS)].)	Yes	Replace the PCM. (See PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5].) (See PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-D 2.2].)
		No	DTC troubleshooting completed.
