HEATED STEERING WHEEL SYSTEM

Purpose

•  The heated steering wheel system warms the steering wheel by warming the heating wires built into the heated steering wheel units.

Functions

•  The heated steering wheel system warms the steering wheel by the heat from the heated steering wheel unit heating wires.
•  When the heated steering wheel system is operated for approx. 30 min, the voltage supplied to the heated steering wheel units is stopped by the timer in the heated steering wheel control unit and the heated steering wheel system operation is stopped.

Operation


Type A

1.  When the heated steering wheel switch is turned on with the ignition switched ON (engine off or on), the cluster switch sends (1) a heated steering wheel system operation request signal to the heated steering wheel control unit.

2.  When the heated steering wheel control unit receives the heated steering wheel system operation request signal from the cluster switch, it turns on (2) the FET.

3.  When the FET turns on, voltage is supplied (3) to the heated steering wheel units and the heated steering wheel units warm.

Note
•  When approx. 30 min have elapsed since the heated steering wheel timer was operated, the heated steering wheel control unit stops the heated steering wheel system operation.

Type B,C

1.  When the heated steering wheel switch is turned on with the ignition switched ON (engine off or on), the indicator unit sends (1) a heated steering wheel system operation request signal to the heated steering wheel control unit.

2.  When the heated steering wheel control unit receives the heated steering wheel system operation request signal from the indicator unit, it turns on (2) the FET.

3.  When the FET turns on, voltage is supplied (3) to the heated steering wheel units and the heated steering wheel units warm.
