DESCRIPTION

• Temperature does not change when operating temperature control switch
• Malfunction in A/C unit and/or rear climate control unit air mix system
• Malfunction in rear air mix actuator or related wiring harness
|
POSSIBLE CAUSE
|
• ROOM 15 A fuse malfunction
• Open circuit in wiring harness between rear climate control unit terminal V and positive battery terminal
• Short to ground in wiring harness between rear climate control unit terminal V and ROOM 15 A fuse
• Rear air mix actuator connector malfunction
• Rear climate control unit connector malfunction
• Rear air mix actuator malfunction
• Rear climate control unit malfunction
• Open circuit or short to ground or short to power supply in wiring harness between the following terminals:
• Short to ground or short to power supply in wiring harness between the following terminals:
• Air mix link malfunction
• Air mix door malfunction

INSPECT COOLANT TEMPERATURE
• Is the coolant sufficiently warmed up?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No
|
Warm up the engine, then go to Step 4.

PERFORM CLIMATE CONTROL UNIT DTC INSPECTION
• Perform the climate control unit DTC inspection using the M-MDS.
• Are any DTCs displayed?

Yes
|
Go to the applicable DTC inspection.
|
No
|
Go to the next step.

INSPECT REAR AIR MIX LINK PART
• Inspect the front air mix actuator and air mix link
• Are the above items normal?
|
Yes
|
Inspect the air mix door for the following items.
• Verify if there is no abnormal noise, cracks, or damage.
• Are doors securely and properly installed?
If there is foreign matter, remove it or securely install the air mix door to the correct position.
If the air mix door is cracked or damaged, replace the air mix door.
Go to the next step.

No

Apply grease or securely install to the correct positions.
If there is a malfunction in the rear air mix link, replace the rear air mix link.
Go to the next step.

VERIFY THAT MALFUNCTION SYMPTOM DOES NOT RECUR AFTER REPAIR
• Does the temperature change when the temperature control dial is operated?

Yes
|
Troubleshooting completed.
Explain repairs to customer.

No
|
Recheck malfunction symptoms, then repeat from Step 1 if the malfunction recurs.
