BLOWER SYSTEM

Front

Outline

•  The blower system takes in the air from inside or outside of the vehicle, and sends it to the front A/C unit passing through the air filter.

Functions

•  The blower system sends air to the front A/C unit by the blower motor.
•  The air intake of the blower system is either FRESH or RECIRCULATE depending on the position of the air intake doors.

Structure/Construction

Operation

1.  When the ignition is switched ON (engine off or on), the front body control module (FBCM) turns the front blower relay on (1).

2.  When the front blower relay turns on, the front blower motor goes on operation standby (2).

3.  When the front climate control unit receives the front blower relay ON signal (3), it performs the airflow volume control (4) and sends a blower speed signal (5) to the front blower motor.

4.  When the front blower motor receives the blower speed signal, the motor rotates (6).

5.  The motor rotation speed is determined by the front blower motor control circuit (7). The rotation speed is fast when the current value flowing from the control circuit is high, and it is slow when the current value is low.

6.  When the front blower motor rotates, air is sent to the front A/C unit. In addition, the air intake is either FRESH, RECIRCULATE25, RECIRCULATE50, RECIRCULATE75 or RECIRCULATE depending on the position of the air intake doors.

Rear

Outline

•  The blower system takes in air from the cabin and sends it to the rear A/C unit.

Functions

•  The blower system sends air into the rear A/C unit by the rear blower motor.

Operation

1.  When the ignition is switched ON (engine off or on), the front body control module (FBCM) turns the rear blower relay on (1).

2.  When the rear blower relay turns on, the rear blower motor goes on operation standby (2).

3.  When the rear climate control unit receives the rear blower relay ON signal (3), it performs the airflow volume control (4) and sends a blower speed signal (5) to the power MOS FET.

4.  When the rear blower motor receives the blower speed signal, the motor rotates (6).

5.  The rear blower motor rotation speed is determined by the power MOS FET (7). The rotation speed is fast when the current value flowing from the power MOS FET is high, and it is slow when the current value is low.
