ACTIVE BONNET WARNING LIGHT

Purpose

•  The active bonnet warning light notifies the driver of an active bonnet malfunction.

Function

•  The active bonnet warning light indicates DTCs by flashing/turning on.
•  The active bonnet warning light flashes/turns on in the pattern shown in the figure.

•  If there are two or more malfunctions in the active bonnet, the DTC of the highest priority is displayed first. For details on DTCs, refer to [ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC [ACTIVE BONNET]]. (See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC [ACTIVE BONNET].)

Construction

•  The active bonnet warning light is built into the instrument cluster.

•  For vehicles with the center display, a warning message is displayed in the center display when the active bonnet warning light flashes/turns on. For the message content, refer to the [CENTER DISPLAY]. (See CENTER DISPLAY.)

Operation

1.  When the ignition is switched ON (engine off or on), the instrument cluster receives (1) an active bonnet warning light signal from the SAS control module via CAN communication.

2.  The instrument cluster turns the transistor on (2) intermittently for flashing and continuously for illumination based on the signal.

3.  The active bonnet warning light flashes (3) when the transistor is turned on intermittently, and it turns on (3) when the transistor is turned on continuously.
