REAR FOG LIGHT INDICATOR LIGHT

Purpose

• The rear fog light indicator light notifies the driver that the rear fog light is turned on.

Function

• When the instrument cluster receives a rear fog light on request signal sent from the front body control module (FBCM) via CAN communication, it turns the rear fog light indicator light on.

Structure/Construction

• The rear fog light indicator light is built into the instrument cluster.

Operation

Operation condition

• Ignition switched ON (engine off or on)

• Headlight LO or front fog light is illuminated

• Fog light switch position: R.FOG

Operation

1. The start stop unit sends (1) the rear fog light signal to the front body control module (FBCM) via CAN communication.

2. When the operation conditions are met, the front body control module (FBCM) sends (2) a rear fog light on request signal to the instrument cluster.

3. The instrument cluster turns the transistor on (3) based on the rear fog light on request signal.

4. When the transistor is turned on, the rear fog light indicator light ground circuit is established and the rear fog light indicator light turns on (4).
