Purpose/Function

•  The Smart Brake Support/Smart City Brake Support (SCBS) OFF indicator light, built into the instrument cluster, informs the driver that Smart Brake Support (SBS) and/or Smart City Brake Support (SCBS) system has been disabled at driver discretion or system malfunction.

Construction

•  The Smart Brake Support/Smart City Brake Support (SCBS) OFF indicator light is equipped in the instrument cluster.

Operation

•  The Smart Brake Support/Smart City Brake Support (SBS/SCBS) OFF indicator light illuminates under the following conditions:
―  When turn off the Smart Brake Support (SBS) and/or Smart City Brake Support (SCBS) by setting function of the multi-information display.
―  Smart Brake Support (SBS) system malfunction.
―  Smart City Brake Support (SCBS) system malfunction.
―  Forward Sensing Camera (FSC) malfunction.

Enable the Smart Brake Support (SBS) and/or Advanced Smart City Brake Support (Advanced SCBS)
Not illuminated
Disable the Smart Brake Support (SBS) and/or Advanced Smart City Brake Support (Advanced SCBS)

1.  The instrument cluster receives (1) the system conditions display request signal from the radar unit or forward sensing camera (FSC) via the CAN signal.

2.  The instrument cluster turns the transistor on (2) based on the system conditions display request signal.

3.  When the transistor turns on, a ground circuit with the Smart Brake Support/Smart City Brake Support (SBS/SCBS) OFF indicator light is established, and the Smart Brake Support/Smart City Brake Support (SBS/SCBS) OFF indicator light turns on (3).
