Warning

• Always wear gloves when using a utility knife. Using a utility knife with bare hands can cause injury.

1. Using a utility knife, peel off the double-sided adhesive tape from the liftgate.

2. Remove the stop rubber.

3. Verify the clip securing the liftgate garnish from the stop rubber installation hole.

Note

• The position of the clip can be verified by standing under the liftgate and looking upward through the stop rubber installation hole.

4. Insert a round bar into the stop rubber installation hole and press up the clip.

5. With the other hand, lightly pull up the end of the liftgate garnish to disengage the clip tabs from the liftgate.

Caution

• Lightly pull up the liftgate garnish to prevent damaging the clip by strongly pulling up the liftgate garnish.

6. Perform the same work on the other side to disengage the clips from liftgate on both ends.

7. Disengage the remaining clips while lightly pulling up the liftgate garnish.

8. Remove the liftgate garnish.

9. Install in the reverse order of removal. (See Liftgate Garnish Installation Note.)

Liftgate Garnish Installation Note

• When reusing the liftgate garnish, replace the double-sided adhesive tape with a new one.

• Before installing the liftgate garnish, remove any grease or dirt from the double-sided adhesive tape application area.
