AUTO LIGHT SYSTEM

id091800010500

Outline

•  The auto light system automatically turns the TNS, headlights, and panel lights on/off according to the illumination level above and in front of the vehicle.

Function

•  The front body control module (FBCM) turns each light on/off based on the signal from the auto light sensor.
•  The illumination level sensitivity of the auto lights can be changed. Refer to [PERSONALIZATION FEATURES] in the workshop manual.

Operation

1.  When the start stop unit detects a light switch status (AUTO or TNS) signal (1), it sends the light switch status (AUTO or TNS) signal (2) to the front body control module (FBCM) via CAN communication.

2.  The auto light sensor determines (3) the on/off of each light from the change in the illumination level outside of the vehicle and sends an auto light on/off request signal (4) to the front body control module (FBCM) via LIN communication.

3.  When the front body control module (FBCM) receives the light switch status (AUTO or TNS) signal and the auto light on/off request signal, it turns each light on/off (5).

Note
•  The auto light illumination conditions are set to turn the headlights on at twilight.
•  To prevent the headlights from switching from on to off or from off to on too frequently, the threshold for the illumination level to turn off is set higher than the threshold for the illumination level to turn on.
