Purpose

•  The low fuel pressure sensor detects the fuel pressure in the high pressure fuel pump mainly as basic information for fuel pump control.

Function

•  Detects the fuel pressure in the high pressure fuel pump and sends a fuel pressure signal to the PCM.

Construction

•  The low fuel pressure sensor is located on the high pressure fuel pump.

•  A semiconductor strain gauge has been adopted for the detection part of the low fuel pressure sensor.
•  The semiconductor strain gauge outputs the voltage value based on the changes in the strain amount from the pressure applied to it.

•  The low fuel pressure sensor is integrated with the fuel temperature sensor.

Operation

1.  The low fuel pressure sensor detects (1) the fuel pressure.

2.  The low fuel pressure sensor sends (2) the detected fuel pressure to the PCM as a fuel pressure signal.
