Purpose

•  The engine oil pressure sensor detects the engine oil pressure mainly as basic information for engine oil variable control.

Function

•  Detects the engine oil pressure and sends an engine oil pressure signal to the PCM.

Construction

•  The engine oil pressure sensor is located on the engine oil solenoid valve spacer.

•  A semiconductor strain gauge has been adopted for the detection part of the engine oil pressure sensor.
•  The semiconductor strain gauge outputs the voltage value based on the changes in the strain amount from the pressure applied to it.

•  The engine oil pressure sensor is integrated with the engine oil temperature sensor.

Operation

1.  The engine oil pressure sensor detects (1) the engine oil pressure.

2.  The engine oil pressure sensor sends (2) the detected engine oil pressure to the PCM as an engine oil pressure signal.
