Purpose/Function
• Notifies the driver that the brake pedal is not depressed to prevent a mis-operation or accident.
Construction/Operation
• The brake pedal operation demand indicator light is integrated with the instrument cluster.
• When the ignition is switched ON and if the system and CAN line of the electric parking brake are normal, the brake pedal operation demand indicator light turns on for an open-circuit check and turns off after approx. 3 s.
• If the electric parking brake is released, the brake pedal operation demand indicator light operates as indicated in the table below.

• When the electric parking brake switch is operated without depressing the brake pedal, the electric parking brake control module sends a brake pedal operation demand indicator light on request signal. When the instrument cluster receives the brake pedal operation demand indicator light on request signal, the transistor is turned on and the brake pedal operation demand indicator light turns on.
