Front

Outline

•  The ventilation system adjusts the airflow temperature or airflow mode of the airflow sent from the blower unit.

Functions

•  The ventilation system adjusts the airflow temperature by changing the position of the air mix doors.
•  The ventilation system adjusts the airflow mode by changing the position of the airflow mode doors.

Head-cold feet-warm function
•  When the airflow mode is set to BI-LEVEL and the airflow temperature setting is near medium temperature, the airflow is divided into airflow passing through the front heater core and airflow not passing through the front heater core.
―  Airflow passing through the front heater core: Air flows to front heat or rear heat
―  Airflow not passing through front heater core: Air flows to center vents, side vents
•  Warm air flows from the front and rear heat vents and comparatively lower temperature air flows from the center and side vents.
•  When the airflow temperature setting is near MAX COLD or MAX HOT, the airflow cannot be divided by the airflow mode doors and there is no difference in airflow temperature from each air vent.

Operation

Air mix door
1.  The front air mix actuator operates according to the airflow temperature control of the front climate control unit.
2.  The air mix doors open and close in the COLD and HOT directions in conjunction with the front air mix actuator operation.
3.  The airflow volume transferred from the front evaporator to the front heater core changes by the opening and closing of the air mix doors, and the temperature of the air is adjusted.

Airflow mode door
1.  The front mode actuator operates according to the airflow mode control of the front climate control unit.
2.  The airflow mode doors open and close in the VENT, BI-LEVEL, HEAT, DEF/HEAT, or DEFROSTER direction in conjunction with the front mode actuator operation. The air vent changes by the opening and closing of the airflow mode doors.

3.  The airflow distributed by the airflow mode doors passes through the ducts and flows from each air vent shown in the figure to the cabin.

Rear

Outline

•  The ventilation system adjusts the airflow temperature or airflow mode of the airflow sent by the rear blower motor (blower fan).

Functions

•  The ventilation system adjusts the airflow temperature by changing the position of the air mix door.
•  The ventilation system adjusts the airflow mode by changing the position of the airflow mode door.
