Purpose, Function

•  Transmits obstructions between the liftgate and D-pillar to the power liftgate (PLG) control module.

Structure/Construction

•  The power liftgate (PLG) touch sensor is located on the liftgate.

Operation

1.  When pressure is applied to the power liftgate (PLG) touch sensor, the insulation rubber compresses.

2.  When the insulation rubber is compressed, the conductive rubber inside it contacts each other.

3.  When the conductive rubber contacts each other, the power liftgate (PLG) touch sensor changes the resistance value to notify the power liftgate (PLG) control module of an obstruction.
