Purpose, Function

• The switch turns on/off in conjunction with the rotation of the latch lever, and it detects the open/closed condition of a rear door by the voltage value which is changed by the rear body control module (RBCM).

Operation

Door open (unlatch) operation

• When the inner or outer handle is operated, the door opens, the latch lever is in an unlatched condition, and the rear door latch switch turns on according to the operation of the latch lever.

Door closed (latched) operation

1. When a door is closed, the rear door lock striker enters the latch lever groove.

2. When the door is further closed after the latch lever groove enters the rear door lock striker, the latch lever is pressed by the rear door lock striker and it rotates.

3. When the door is fully closed, the latch lever is in a latched condition, and the rear door latch switch turns off according to the operation of the latch lever.
